Before the cards are dealt, each player places three bets as follows:-On one of the cards showing; In the kitty (to be won by the first player to get rid of all their cards). In the pot (to be won by any player who holds a run of three cards in the same suit and the run is played). The players examine their cards - the hands are not displayed. Newmarket refers to a card game that’s also called Michigan, Stops, or Boodle. Around 3 to 8 players can play the game. The ultimate goal is to get rid of all the cards (in your hand) and play specific cards to win stakes. Our extensive collection of free online card games spans 10 classic solitaire titles, as well as several other best in class card games including 2 classic versions of Bridge, Classic Solitaire, Canfield Solitaire, and Blackjack, to name a few. Introduction This game is also known as Boodle, Stops or (in Britain) Newmarket and is suitable for about 3 to 8 players. It is a fairly simple stops game in which the aim is to get rid of your cards first, and to win stakes by playing particular cards.
In 1926 the Newmarket Garden Club (NGC) was founded with the purpose of promoting horticulture-the joy of plants and gardening for the benefit of its members and the public.

Our logo is the Monarda (Scarlet Beebalm). The Monarda attracts bees, and because of this association with the slogan of The Town of Newmarket, which is “Hive of Activity”, the Monarda was chosen as our official logo.
Our membership includes both novice and expert gardeners whose social activities include seed and plant exchanges, annual plant sales, maintenance of public gardens, communication through newsletters and associations with other horticultural societies throughout Ontario. The NGC is a proud member of District 5 of the Ontario Horticultural Association and participates in many intersociety functions. The NGC normally holds general meetings for members and the public at the Newmarket Community Centre. We publish a bimonthly newsletter entitled Monarda for our members.
We hold an annual plant sale fund raising event each spring with plants mainly supplied from our members’ gardens. This is always a popular event with the public and sells out quite quickly. Check out the plant sale info on our Plant Sale page. To review some of our scheduled events, see our Events in the menu bar.
